What better way to celebrate our lil’ monsters’ birthdays than with a crazy, colorful monster mash? And because their birthdays are only one month apart, Lola turned two on February 11th and Milo will be three on March 13th, we can totally get away with one big combined party! So much fun and so much easier on mommy and daddy ![]()
I like to think that Jason and I are two pretty creative people, but add to that our super creative friends and family members and nearly everything at this party was handmade by one person or another! Milo and Lola are so very lucky to have all of these talented people in their lives that love them so very much. Thank you all, and thank you to all of our guests! This was truly their best birthday yet and they are still talking about the incredible fun they had!
Jason drew the monsters on the invitations… so darn cute! Milo says that the red one is him and the orange one is Lola. Funny boy!

A few details of the decorations and the goody bag contents…

Hey Lola! How old are you now?
Hey Milo! How big are you now?
Lola and I shared a few minutes of cuddle time before our guests arrived…
and Milo was so excited that he did a crazy little happy dance! LOVE those pointer fingers!
Each goody bag contained a felt monster, a soap monster, and a couple of Milo and Lola’s favorite treats; goldfish and chocolate squares. The felt monsters were made by Jason’s talented mama and no two were alike! So darn cute! The soaps were one of the only things that were not made by someone we know, instead they were found on Etsy, and truthfully, these soaps were the inspiration for the colorful monster theme. I saw them one day while browsing and, ta-da! Monster theme was born!
The prepared goody bags…

Milo’s hat and both of their tee-shirts were made for us by our lovely friend, Jessica Willette. Lola had a hat too! An unbelievably adorable princess hat with an L on it, but for some reason it had the silly girl seeing red! We figured that the party would be a much friendlier event if we kept that one under wraps. I can’t picture cuter outfits for the birthday duo to wear! These were perfect!
And I guess the kids were pretty cute, too![]()
The birthday cake was made for us by one of my oldest friends, Kelly Keith, and the toppers were made by Jason and I. Didn’t Kelly do an excellent job? Cute, cute, cute!
Toddler snacks! More of Milo and Lola’s faves; goldfish, puffs and fruit squeezers! We put out a little stack of colorful paper bags and let the kids serve themselves…

A few happy faces…

Milo could NOT wait for the cake!
Last year, my parents gave me an ice cream maker for Christmas, and not any ice cream maker, but a candy swirling jumbo soft serve maker! All I could think at the time was, “Why? Why? Why?!!!”, but I will admit, it has turned out to be the most useful useless gift I have ever received. And, of course, it was a HUGE hit with the kiddos!

Contact me if you’d like info for tee-shirts by Jessica or cakes by Kelly, they would both be happy to hook you up with a cute something or other!![]()
Thanks again to all of our guests and those of you who made this party possible! There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing a big grin on a little face and I definitely saw plenty of those!
